God's Country Fellowship Church recognizes the transit nature of the attending faithful thus welcomes FLC students and tourists that desire to attend with the local residents.
The General Board of God's Country Fellowship Church is organized under the Victory New Testament Fellowship International Church Head, and the laws of Colorado as a non profit corporation, and is managed by board members of the highest integrity from three states.
Nick has been a La Plata county property owner since 1971 as one of the original residents of the Rafter J subdivision. Nick was the organizer of the first Rafter J Home Owners Association and Charter member of the then Rafter J Volunteer Fire Department. He was one of the initial members and commander of Durango's USAF Civil Air Patrol squadron (still in being), and is a USAF veteran. Nick holds diplomas in Civil and EE Engineering, a BBA from FLC, a BA in Religious Philosophy, a Masters in Ministry and Dr. Christian Studies. Nick anticipates his Dr. Ministry will be completed before the end of the 2010.
Nick and Kathleen are members in Plano, Texas of Prestonwood Baptist Church and Grace Community Church. Nick was the 16th charter member of Grace which now serves 2,700 families. Prestonwood serves 27,000 members. Nick and Kathleen present services at the McPherson-FLC Campus Chapel. When possible Nick and Kathleen attend the First Baptist Church of Durango.
Nick became involved in TV broadcasting and then as a telecommunications project manager for Plano, Texas based Fortune 500 corporations and a European company. Nick retired in 1995 to Durango and returned to work in 2000 and re-retired in 2003. Thereafter, Nick prepared for the ministry and ordination. Nick was ordained by the Victory New Testament Fellowship International in March 2009. V.N.T.F. Int'l is the "Church Head" for the Chapel mission and thus Nick is authorized to perform the sacraments of the church in accordance with Protestant faith and beliefs.
Nick's wife, Kathleen Federspiel will be active in the church - a blessing. Kathleen will coordinate schedules, special committees, weddings, baptisms and praiseworthy music.
Committee Chairs, in cooperation with the Minister and Activities Coordinator, Chairs prepare and accept responsibility for activities that benefit the church and the community and thus the ministry of the Church. The music praise committee will be the first established. Interns: This church will consider petitions of internship (when operations mature) to provide experience and credit for students engaged in a seminary program. Positive cash flow from sustained operations and projects are intended in part be used to provide scholarship assistance to Ft. Lewis College graduates committed to continue in the ministry, and to seniors engaged in distant learning theology programs - when blessed and as funds become available.

The Ordaining & License Authority and the Church Head is:

Order of Service: The church head authorizes autonomous mission churches that follow accept basic tenets of Protestant Christianity. Principal among them being the Trinity and the resurrection of Jesus Christ offering the hope of salvation for those who learn, believe and endeavor to live moral and righteous lives. Service will begin with a traditional order of service in honor of God and the legacy and heritage of the Church and those who before us labored and endured much so that the the church we have today is available for our services today. Thereafter, a more contemporary order of service is appended including contemporary gospel music offered in praise.
The Sacraments (Mysteries):
Baptism (by immersion) is performed as requested for trained adults confirming their faith in
Jesus Christ.
Communion will be performed periodically and is "open table" to all baptized faithful
attending the service - in accordance with Luke 22:19-20, Mark 16:16, John 14:6-21.
Weddings can be performed in the FLC chapel or at other "God's Country" locations of choice.
